Licking Our Wounds-Day 4

How many men does it take to change a lightbulb?

Well, what a surprise. Vicki knocked on our van door at 6:06 am, ready for our early morning walk. I decided to decline her invite (my legs were still sore from yesterday, not to mention the state my throbbing head was in) and headed for the showers instead. It’s amazing how many people are up early in caravan parks. Not sure if it’s because all the walls are so thin that you can hear EVERYTHING your neighbors are doing and saying, or if it is to beat the queue at the showers, toilet or laundry. Anyway, I got the shower of my choice, believe me, there are some dodgy shower heads out there! We decided to hang around the park today because we were all feeling a little tender, for a variety of reasons. I took it upon myself to re-evaluate how we had packed the van and this resulted in me unloading all the cupboards, and I mean ALL, and changing the location of nearly every item. You can never be too organised. Feeling so much better and with a newly organised fridge, we took a walk into the town of Renmark. A couple of kilometers each way was enough to stretch the tight muscles and we ended up wandering around Big W then Safeway to fill the extra room I had made in the fridge. Ray and Chris worked out how to change the light bulb in the van ( how many men does it take…?) Ray took the kids to the end of the van, loaded them on the bed and enjoyed story time. It will become a weekly event when all the kids will get a shot at a bit of show and tell. Interesting story telling tonight. Ray showed the kids his butcher shop knives and went through the origins of each one. Amazingly they were enthralled. Ray and Chris have decided we will move on tomorrow, probably free camp tomorrow night. We are heading for Flinders Ranges, at this stage.
