Port Augusta Or “Madagascar” Day 8

We sold up, packed up and decided to embark on the adventure of our lives. Follow us as we travel around Australia in a caravan.

Today we left for Port Augusta (“Madagascar” as Harry calls it). A lovely picturesque drive all the way. Vicki and I had a lovely chat via CB radio and we thought that we might use it  to catch up with each other while on the road during the day.  I was blissfully unaware that others could hear until we realised that we could hear their conversations! Oops! The men made us realise that it is for “real” communication and not for idle chit chat and that it is actually important to keep the airwaves free for real emergencies and important communication between truckies and other road users. No more “Rubber Duck, Plastic Chook” or the fits of laughter that came with our over the air conversations.

We arrived in Port Augusta and checked into the Big 4 caravan park. We intended to stay for one night but … Chris discovered a problem with his gas ( like we didn’t know that already) and it looks like we might be here until Monday (Today is Thursday). Tomorrow will tell.

Harry was so proud to be such a grown up boy and be in charge of filling the caravan water tank with water from the hose. We all told him how important it was that someone responsible did the job so he put his hand up and with a huge beaming smile, did the job. So cute!9
