Oh Alice, You Are Hot! – Day 19

We sold up, packed up and decided to embark on the adventure of our lives. Follow us as we travel around Australia in a caravan.

It was a  hot, sunny morning in Alice Springs. Lots of people were up early, just like us. A top today of 36 degrees was predicted. It gets pretty hot and steamy in the van while you are trying to sleep when the weather is so hot so its much more comfortable to be up at at ’em early..

We spent today juggling cars and services. Unfortunately they couldn’t service our car so we had a relaxing day by the pool instead. This caravan park has a resort type pool so if we closed our eyes we could almost imagine we were on a tropical holiday, not in the centre of Australia surrounded by red dust and annoying flies.

Later in the day we wandered around town again. The washing machines seem to be ruining all of our clothes and we needed to replace many items. Such a terrible thing to happen! (Yes!) We found a cute gift for Shane and Kylie’s bub. Their unborn child is the only one receiving gifts at this stage and Ray willingly agreed when he knew who it was for.

We want to see so much around here. The School Of The Air, Reptile Farm, Telegraph Station, Aviation Musesum to name a few. Ray competes tomorrow afternoon so hopefully we will get some sight seeing in, in the morning.

I did some maths with the kids this morning, then taught Hannah how to play Checkers. She beat me! The pupil beats the master, although the master was never very good at Checkers anyway. Wait til I get her into the Casino!

Harry got a light saber from the shops, then Caleb gave him lessons on the proper Jedi fighting stance to go with the movements. Hilarious!2
