Even though we intended to pass through Coral Bay, then stopped for a night , we woke this morning and voted on staying another extra night on top of that. That gave us a whole day to snorkel, fish and continue our relaxation marathon. The park was so beautiful, was well equipped with grassy, shady sites and we were surrounded by lovely travellers who we got to know better.
Caleb disappeared with some girls who were twins and they played the morning away at the two playgrounds. They are from Queensland and their parents manage holiday resorts while they travel. What a lovely and productive lifestyle to have.
The man behind us, Sam, is travelling on his own and came to our rescue when we encountered another flat battery. As a car salesman he was able to show Ray how to use the override switch and take advantage of the second battery under the bonnet to effectively get the car to start itself. Valuable information to have going forward for the next flat battery. I likened it to having a hair dryer and not really knowing how to use all of its functions! I think we’ll be right now.
The Christmas advent calendar activity for today was to decorate the van with tinsel inside, which excited Caleb. It’s starting to feel a bit like Christmas. We then wrapped him in wrapping paper like the great big present that he is and we then threatened to wait to open him up on Christmas morning. He busted out of the paper like the Hulk and there were smiles all around.
A great day, enjoying a beautiful spot, new friends and each other. Just lovely! How grateful we are.
