We debated about staying another day when we woke up to an absolutely beautiful morning. It’s difficult to leave paradise when there is absolutely no reason or need to. However, we decided to stick with our original plan and move on today.
It took a while to be ready to leave and as Caleb observed, “Dad hasn’t been helping us to pack up, he’s talking AGAIN!” We persevered in packing and putting away all the things we could manage and eventually we were good to go. It was 11:30 am by the time we farewelled everyone and we admitted to each other that the people we had met here, made this location an absolute favourite of ours.
We headed to Norseman where we planned to stay the night and do some washing. Caleb was about to have to go “jockless” (again) as he was out of clean underwear. We arrived and loaded up the washing machine before we had even driven to our site. The office lady had mentioned that she had taken down the shower curtains in the men’s and hadn’t had a chance to put the new ones up. Ray offered to do it for her and walked out of the office with an armful of plastic curtains. She was so pleased she didn’t charge us for Caleb and gave us a 10% discount as well. Score!
We caught up with our favourite TV shows as we had been without power for the last 5 nights. Just in time to see the Sunday night room reveal on The Block. I stand by my conviction that this had nothing to do with our decision to move on this morning.
We leave tomorrow for our first leg across the Nullabor. We are not sure where we will be spending the night, but we will most likely find a free camp to stop at overnight.
