Painful Pack Up-Day 157

Our Logo – sorry no photos today!

Packing up in a hurry this morning, I started the day by pouring boiling hot water over my hand. I did all the correct things, ran it under water, applied a cold pack and even though I was sucking it up as best as I could, when Ray insisted that we stop by the chemist on our way out of town, I was relieved that there was one so close by.
The chemist dressed my burn herself after I had paid for the cream etc. Great service!
We travelled most of the day and got further than we anticipated. We stopped at Whyalla, a major port of South Australia which also mines iron ore. We set up at the caravan park and then went to have a look around. I was put on light duties for set up so the whole exercise took three times as long. Caleb and Ray started to get a little frustrated with how much there was to do. This clearly illustrated to them how much I usually do and that we needed to redistribute the jobs a little more evenly. Pleasure out of pain!
Whyalla is an old town and we saw a huge variety of housing. There were a lot of ex housing commission homes that we supposed were remnants from when the port was a military base. We assumed they were military housing.
It was too late to visit the Information Centre as it was closed. We returned to the van, enjoyed wine o’clock and dinner. (Photos were difficult to take today due to hand injury – apologies!)
