Caleb Saves The (Washing) Day-Day 167

The night proved to be hot and the air around us very still, until about 3am when a cool breeze brought a sudden change of temperature and I had to get out of bed to retrieve the doona that we had so quickly thrown off us at bedtime. It was paradise to snuggle under the doona and so much like being in Melbourne, Victoria with our four seasons in one day reputation.

Noelene and Russell ventured over to our camp in the morning and we spent a few hours continuing our catch up from yesterday. Morning quickly turned into lunchtime and we decided that we should have a bite to eat and then drive to Renmark as we had run out of fresh salad and milk. Caleb proudly announced himself the clever solution finder to our laundry issues finding a canvas bag with built in handles that we could use as a dirty washing bag that could fit in any spot in the van and be (literally) dragged to laundries in caravan parks. It cost $8 from The Reject Shop. After shopping, we felt we had earned the right to treat ourselves to a McDonalds coffee. Russell is quite partial to their brew and Ray’s level of excitement grows whenever he spots a pink donut, so we knew we could probably keep them both satisfied at Maccas.

An hour or so later we returned to camp and continued our chatting over drinks, then dinner.
I don’t recall a time when I have talked so much! It’s normally Ray “flapping his gums” but I also gave it a really good go during the course of the day.
Noelene and Russell make such great travelling companions that we found ourselves wishing that we were heading in the same direction rather than in opposite directions. It’s the people that you meet on the road that make such a difference to your travelling experience.
