A Berry Berry Nice Day! – Day 180

Ahhh…waking up in Berry is the stuff dreams are made of. Another gorgeous sun filled morning. We walked the 500 metres into the Main Street and spent the morning wandering through an amazing variety of stores. There were so many homewares stores which were enticing but I suppose having a house to put things in is an important part of wanting to browse through them. I resisted, although I did spot the lounge suite I would like to own one day.
We stopped for a coffee and watched the world walk by on a busy Monday morning.
The local hairdresser was advertising $10 haircuts if the apprentice did it so Ray and Caleb lined up. It was about time someone straightened out the mess I have been making of their hair with the kitchen scissors!
Of course, Caleb won his hairdresser over with his cuteness (she couldn’t say anything else it seemed than, ” Oh he’s so cute!”). When he looked in the mirror and told her that she had made him look like a prince, I’m sure she had a tear in her eye! Taking advantage of him mesmerizing the staff, Ray and I raided the lolly bowl sitting on the reception desk.
Of course we needed to visit the town’s lolly shop, we are experts at comparing and critiquing them now because we have been in so many. (When I retire I think it would be the perfect business for me.)
We each chose a packet, and walked back to the van.
Ray was adamant that he wanted to go to the beach so after lunch we drove the short distance to Shoalhaven Beach. I must say, we are very hard to impress when it comes to beaches. We have been so very spoilt and have quite simply already seen what we consider to be the most beautiful beaches in the world. So no surprise that Shoalhaven didn’t really “do it” for us. Caleb was entertained writing in the sand and we had a quick play before heading back. We stopped off at the “Treat Factory”, there were chocolates and nuts galore and made it back in time for Caleb to swim in the local pool for an hour. The pool is located just behind the Showgrounds so a couple of metres walk and he was splashing about in no time. We leave here tomorrow and arrive in Sydney for Easter. Sad to leave Berry. It has been “berry berry nice”!
Happy 45th Wedding Anniversary to my mum and dad. They are doing something right!
