It was wet, soggy, muddy and still raining in Lismore.
We packed up in the rain which proved to be very uncomfortable, and headed towards the Queensland border. As we crossed it we “high fived” each other because we had made it to our last state to explore! (Except for our recent idea that perhaps we should do Tasmania on our way back). We have travelled every state and territory so far with Queensland the one Caleb has been looking forward to the most. He is looking forward to the theme parks, which ones we will visit is a matter of continuing negotiation.
We pulled into Palm Beach, which is located just below Burleigh Heads, to a caravan park that was recommended to us by some travellers we met in Coffs Harbour. It will be a good spot to explore the coast and inland from. I’m especially looking forward to taking a look at Burleigh Heads, much recommended by my friend Karen who holidayed there earlier this year.
The washing was a priority again so we did that and continued our rain avoidance (it followed us I think) by hanging around the van while the washer and dryer did their stuff. Before we knew it, the day had gone and people needed to be fed.
We have our fingers tightly crossed for better weather tomorrow.
