It’s Saturday. Market day.
Wherever we have been in the Eastern side of Australia, we have been able to visit a market on Saturday and or, Sundays. We absolutely love the Farmers Markets, sampling local produce and seeing how incredibly creative people are. It’s an absolute highlight of being a travelling family.
We got started a bit late so we went to the local market first. It was the smallest we’ve been to so far but I saw some amazing hand knitted garments and the women with their needles tucked under their arms in the middle of creating new ones.
We drove from here to another market in Kawana Waters. This area is one of the fastest growing residential area on the Sunshine Coast and the streets are modern and well laid out. It took a couple of goes on the GPS and Maps to find it, and by the time we arrived there was only 30 minutes until pack up time. Just enough time to secure a sausage in bread and have a quick look around at the mainly organic stalls.
We stopped off at yet another playground on the way home so Caleb could run off some energy.
An afternoon of washing and schoolwork passed quickly and before we knew it the evening had crept in. We watched a movie (our first for the whole trip – I can hardly believe I am even typing those words) and spent the whole time trying to understand it. I admit I even Googled the plot to help. Movie watching is an art, one that we are well out of touch with.
