Time To Play In Hervey Bay-Day 225

The plan for today was to stay close to the van and enjoy the benefits of the park.

Caleb and Ray started out with trying to rescue one of his toys that he had accidentally thrown through the tennis court fence. They could have easily walked to the office and borrowed the key, but this was more challenging (and more fun).

While they were outside, I shuffled some cupboards around and reorganised my clothes. All of them fit into the 3 smallest cupboards in the van. I have unloaded a lot that I originally left home with to charity bins and op shops (and even rubbish bins) as we have been moving around, and have less than half of what I left home with.

It’s amazing how the dirt of the outback and the brutality of shared industrial washing machines will ruin fabric. Don’t leave home for a travelling adventure with anything that is precious or that you intend to have intact at the end of your adventure. Also, definitely nothing white that you don’t want to be a particular shade of grey by the time you return home.
The boys eventually organised a game of tennis, making friends with some other travellers from England. Ray started giving tennis lessons to the kids while I gave up my job as ball girl to chat at the fence with their mother. I found this much more entertaining.

We decided to take a walk after lunch. Caleb rode his bike (I helped a little) and we walked about 5kms along the foreshore and back. We stopped along the way to use the exercise equipment and I was surprised to see lots of people using it as part of their exercise regime. It made me feel even more guilty that I have abandoned my early morning walks. Tomorrow for sure!
I made an appointment at the local hairdresser for tomorrow (my second visit to a hairdresser in 7 months ) because I just can’t cope with the grey hairs anymore. The ends are dry and I need some layers.
Ahh. I miss my hairdresser!
We had an enjoyable evening and I made it a priority to get into bed earlier so that I had no excuse to miss my morning walk. Time will tell!
