We stayed close to the van, Caleb disappeared during the hours of the morning to play with other kids and came back when he was hungry. We are so lucky to be able to give him that experience of freedom that many kids these days aren’t lucky enough to experience. The wide open spaces of Australia and the opportunity to travel so freely that we have is such a blessing for all of us at this time of our lives.
After lunch Caleb and I made Cherry Ripe fudge. It was a good maths lesson in fractions and measurement as well as a delicious result that we could all partake in. He apologized repeatedly for the mess running down the front of the cupboards. It was the most cleaning I’ve done in 7 months but it was totally worth it for the learning experience and the delicious result!

We checked out the maps and destinations as we are supposed to move on from here tomorrow but couldn’t bring ourselves to commit to it. We even considered returning to Western Australia because we loved it so much, and a 3 hour conversation resulted in this proposal and the actually possibility of changing direction, but we couldn’t come to a definite conclusion.
We were warned by other travellers that once we reached Hervey Bay we wouldn’t want to leave and it’s so true! The only decision we could make was to stay here another week, and why not?
We haven’t explored the area fully (or all of the shops) so we went to bed with the only decision made to actually stop here another week.
