I enjoyed a another lovely walk this morning with Caleb and Ray for company. The sky was clear and the forecast was for a warm 26 degrees celsius, without rain. It was the perfect day to go out and enjoy the weather but because we didn’t do the food shopping yesterday as we had intended, we had to do it today, or starve. That was a lesson in procrastination! After waiting for Ray to finish his neighbourly banter, we braved what was probably one of the busiest Aldi stores in Australia, and then the bigger, better stocked supermarket.
After lunch Ray went fishing again, determined to catch something edible while Caleb and I finished schoolwork and intended to play tennis. Just as we were pulling on our runners to go and play, Caleb realised that the tennis racquets were in the back of the car with Ray. Bummer!
Instead, he went and played with friends and I sat and read every word of Marie Clare magazine from beginning to end. Who ever gets to do that? It was so indulgent. Ray returned home fish less (again). He actually caught 17 fish all of which were toadies (puffer fish). Nothing edible. He reported that all around him were fishermen not even getting a nibble and here he was pulling in one after the other. At least he was the entertainment for the afternoon to break up the monotony.
Ray cooked a scrambled egg dinner (score) and we had a peaceful night.
I actually watched a dozen eggs in their carton, that we had just bought, bounce twice off the bench and out the caravan door today. Half of them broke, hence the dinner. It was actually quite funny because can you imagine anything worse to fall off the bench and bounce out the door? ( I just re read that. Yes, it is a simple life I lead!)
