Haircuts in ‘Hampton-Day 242

The first words I heard this morning were, “You don’t really want to move on today do you?”

From my spot in bed, realizing it was already 8:15am, I agreed. We would stay another day and take advantage of the park facilities. Being a Sunday it was more likely that there would be a few kids around for Caleb to play with.

We lazed around reading the paper and my next book which I finished throughout the course of the day. We made a quick trip to the shops to buy a few things we had forgotten and then sat down to enjoy the sun. It would have been about 24 degrees, lovely for sitting in, but not warm enough for me to swim in ( even in the solar heated lagoon pool). Caleb did, that kid will swim in water of any temperature. Ray and Caleb had a game of table tennis and from all reports, I think Ray has met a budding threat to his “High School Champion” status. Caleb was excited that they had a rally of more than 60 hits. He also scored 2 “aced” serves against Ray. Finally, some serious competition for Ray.

Our only other chore to get done today was haircuts! I pulled out the clippers and scissors and sat the boys down. The last professional haircut that they had, I watched intently and think I got the basics. I even managed to taper Caleb’s so that his hair on top is longer than the sides. I’m going for a bit of a trendier style than his usual buzz cut. I think I did ok. They are both happy anyway and the best part – it didn’t cost anything and everyone’s ears are still intact!

We really do move on tomorrow and I won’t crumble to any smooth talking this time!
