Countdown to Fun in Cairns-Day 263

On the way out of the Mission Beach area we stopped at the Giant Cassowary for a photo.

Caleb could hardly contain his excitement at our destination for today. Cairns Coconut Holiday Resort. A while back we watched Undercover Boss and saw this park reviewed. It has won so many awards and has so many activities for kids that we promised Caleb we would stay 2 nights there when we were in the area. Finally his count down was complete. Ray had also promised a schoolwork free day, so he was beside himself and couldn’t wait to arrive.
The caravan park is well maintained, and although its rather expensive, it’s still cheaper than we have paid for some very basic parks during our trip. There is nothing this park doesn’t have. It has 2 pools, spas, 2 huge jumping pillows, a playground with bike track, mini golf, table tennis, full gym, kart bikes, new games in the recreation room that we hadn’t seen before, a mini mart, licensed cafe, too much to be able to mention it all. We plan to not leave the park for 2 whole days. We will get to explore Cairns after that.
We had a game of mini golf, each of us scoring a hole in one and Caleb hired a kart bike and disappeared in the park with another new friend.
I indulged in a Nana nap (such a tiring existence we lead) and Ray read the paper.
Caleb went to bed a happy kid knowing that he had a whole day of fun to embrace the next day.
