Strange Fantasies Begin-Day 328

Today is our last day in this caravan park at Lake Placid, Cairns. Tomorrow we make the move to Holloway Beach (just a suburb or two away) and into a rented house.

I cannot express just how excited we are at the thought of seeing our visitors AND of living in a real house for 5 days. We have been having daytime fantasies about sitting on the couch, doing our washing in a machine that doesn’t demand $1 coins and showering without thongs. Caleb will sleep in his own bedroom and we will be able to sit up in bed without banging our heads on the roof!

Joy, joy, joy.

We took a trip into Cairns for some groceries, including some nappies for Ryder. It has been a very long time since our trolley had nappies in it!

I had been sent a 20% off voucher for Lorna Jane and I was determined to spend some money and use the voucher. I happily tried on numerous items (that was a workout in itself) and enjoyed some ‘me’ time chatting with the shop assistant while Ray and Caleb checked out the toy shops.

With 20% off I shopped up a storm (2 items) and walked out a happy lady. Now, I just have to do some exercise to justify my sport based purchases!

We enjoyed our last drinks with Stewie and Ann, some lovely nomads we met here through Aunty Barbara. It will be sad to say goodbye in the morning. Our neighbours, Danny and Val are lovely people too and live in Mooroolbark (a couple of suburbs away from where we used to live), Victoria so we are pretty certain we will bump into them again.

We started to pack up the main items before going to bed. This will save us time in the morning, perhaps a sleep in will be on the cards.
