A day at the van was in order today. I had a mountain of work to do with my ecourse which I have let get away from me. I had no choice but to power up the computer outside in the shade and get to work.
Ray and Caleb started the morning with some discus training, Ray has only 4 more days until he competes in the Great Barrier Reef Masters Games. He is doing discus, javelin, weight throw, hammer throw and shot put. These make up the pentathlon event.
We will be spending the weekend watching big brawny men throwing weights around, trying to outdo each other. Should be fun!
As it is tourist season here in Cairns, the caravan park is quite full. It is imperative that you park the right way so as to not impinge on your neighbour’s space, especially when reversing. Everyone is so accommodating…nearly everyone. Check out the photo below. Notice the one car facing the wrong way, going to cause a problem when it tries to reverse? Guess who ? (Yep, Ray.)
Our afternoon passed quickly, Ray and Caleb went out to get some wine for the wine o’clock gatherings and came home with my all time favourite movie “Chitty Chitty Bang Bang”. I have very fond memories of watching it on “Friday Night At The Movies”.
I had a really good feeling that it was a cheesy enough movie to crack Caleb up. We watched half if it after dinner and he laughed in all the right spots. It was when the “Intermission” text came up on the screen and we explained to him what it was for, that he was really amused. He couldn’t believe that movies used to stop halfway through so that everyone in the cinema could go to the toilet and have a break.
We will watch the second half tomorrow. I am loving reliving the memories of this movie and being able to annoy Ray and Caleb by singing all the songs, word for word.
