A well placed furry paw on the side of my nose woke me up at 4:30 AM. This was a signal that something was wrong because this was not a usual happening. The Captain then went to the door and scraped his paw down it. He wanted to go outside. He was also a bit dry in the mouth. I refreshed his water but he wasn’t interested.
He definitely wanted to go outside.
I definitely needed to wake up Ray.
I woke up Ray. He took Henry outside and it was lucky that he did, because Henry had the runs. We had treated Henry to a special piece of steak from the Gin Gin butcher when we stopped for “coffee coffee”the other day and perhaps the “steak steak” wasn’t any good good for him. Best that we keep to his normal diet from now on when we don’t have a doggie door for him to take himself outside. We all went back to sleep after that misadventure and consequently slept in which was very delicious.
By the time we were ready to have showers, Ray got a text message on his phone from the Caravan Park saying they had a water leak and they were turning off the water. So Ray watched the leak man come in his van and fix the water leak. He moved extremely slowly, and Ray gave a wonderful commentary on the man doing his work, and how slowly he was packing up his tools. I don’t think he would get a job as an employee of Ray’s! Eventually we were ready to go and Ray had an amazing idea of what we should do with ourselves for the day.
Originally, we were going to take a wander around Coolangatta and Tweed Heads and the Esplanade because we don’t know this area very well at all. We always tend to spend our time around Burleigh Heads and the Northern Beaches areas because that’s the area that we like the most so we were going to get to know this area a little bit better. But, Ray thought that he could drop me off at my favorite shopping center in all of Australia and he would take Henry for a visit to the Safety Xpress warehouse and visit the old crew of the business that we used to have. Well, I thought that was a great idea too.
I had a wonderful time at Pacific Fair, wandering around on my own. It’s just the place to window shop and have a look at all the new season gear even if you don’t buy anything, just to have a look and admire things even if you don’t intend to own them it’s just lovely to be there and do some people watching too.
I had some coffee and I had some lunch, and I did manage to buy a couple of things too. (Surprise, surprise).
Ray picked me up again and we went for a drive around Coolangatta marveling at how big it is and how it changed since we were there a long time ago. We found a lovely little Bay called Rainbow Bay. It actually reminded us of Burleigh Heads from many years ago, before Burleigh heads became so popular.
There were a lot of surfers out in the bay, more surfers than we have seen in a concentrated area anywhere we have traveled. There were even little kids with surfboards that were bigger than them. It really looked like the place to be.
There’s a dress shop that I wanted to go to and there’s only two in Australia. One’s in Byron Bay and the other is in Tweed Heads. I normally look at the clothes online and I own one of their dresses. So Ray thought it was important that we go there! What a man! So we found it, but it was closed. He assured me we will go back there tomorrow.
