The Ningaloo Reef Rocks – Day 67

We are camped at Cape Range National Park. No power, no showers and one drop toilet to share. The beauty of the park more than makes up for its lack of amenities. I’ve really enjoyed getting closer to the great outdoors (hard to believe, I know) and being without many of the home comforts just makes the whole experience more authentic. We have met people who are travelling in a car with a tent and not much more, so by their standards, our set up is totally luxurious.
We are at Tulki Beach within the park and can hear the beach from our camp. This is a renowned camp for snorkelling and it is a part of the World Heritage site of the Ningaloo Reef. Today we spent the day checking out the Visitor Information Centers that are located within the Park, making sure we don’t miss anything in this beautiful part of Australia. We had lunch and then Caleb and I hung out at the van while Ray and Aaron went fishing. They promised fish for dinner (again) but their track record isn’t good so I made other plans. Luckily I did, because they returned after 2 hours empty handed.
Ray’s face was incredulous. He simply couldn’t believe that he hadn’t caught a fish.
The advent calendar activity for today told us to eat off Christmas plates. We then played a game involving Christmas lollies where we had to throw the lollies onto the plates. Caleb was in charge and made sure he won so that he got to eat the most. He went to bed excitedly talking about tomorrow’s Advent envelope and the possible Christmas activity to come.
