A Day Splashing About-Day 114

A sleep in, 2 loads of washing and lunch at the van. Not a very exciting morning. We decided to surprise Caleb and take him to the Mandurah Aquatic centre before dragging him around the supermarket again.
I secretly packed the swimmers, towels and goggles and we headed out. By the time he realised that we weren’t at the supermarket and actually at the swimming pool, he was so excited. Caleb loves swimming but really doesn’t enjoy the beach. Too much salt water!
I decided to swim too, eager to learn how to swim properly for the first time in my life. Ray was a competitive swimmer who trained and swam with his high school team and had never lost the skills. He looks so competent as he swims and so I wanted him to teach me how to do it while we are on holidays.
We spent a couple of hours in the water amusing the other serious swimmers who were swimming laps in the lane next door. Caleb insisted on yelling out instructions for me that I’m sure the whole centre heard. “Focus Mum, you won’t learn if you don’t watch me first”. (I believe I was looking around to see how many people were listening). It was cringe worthy!
After swimming (or splashing about is probably a better description), we did a food shop. We seem to spend a lot of time in supermarkets and will really appreciate a full sized fridge should we ever get one again!
Dinner and a night inside the van. The mozzies are biting and once again, and I seem to be the tastiest dish on the menu!
