We decided that we couldn’t send Aaron home to Melbourne without a new wardrobe to accompany him. He has lost quite a bit of weight since we’ve been on the road and all his old clothes were hanging off him.
We headed off for some serious bargain hunting at Harbour Town in Perth City. We were pleasantly surprised at the variety of shops there and the prices to go with them. Ray was so impressed with the $1 shoes in Cotton On and we were worried that he might actually cut of a toe or two in order to fit into a pair. that were obviously too small for him.
We managed to get all of Aaron’s requirements within a couple of hours and between two stores and then wandered around treating ourselves to a few new bits and pieces. I’ve been so good with not shopping for new clothes or shoes since we left home, resisting so much, but today I caved a little and came home with a few new pieces. I think I know how I can fit 3 things onto one coat hanger to fit them into my tiny wardrobe.
Shopping done, we grabbed a bottle of wine and headed to Ray’s sister, Tinie’s apartment in Perth. Knowing we were back in town we had received an invitation to dinner. She promised to make her famous meatballs (which we all love) so we were looking forward to that.
We enjoyed a lovely afternoon with Tinie, a lovely dinner which included a dessert of mini pavlovas (an Aussie favourite), and travelled back to the van full as googs! A very successful day indeed. Perth really delivers on all fronts.
