April 23rd- Country roads take me home…

We breakfasted at Pre-Vue (home of The Captains Insta fame). We took our time knowing that we only had a three hour journey home today.

Our last breakfast

We could easily keep travelling. Ray is very easy to get along with and is a very curious person. He isn’t worried about what people think and that makes for some serious adventures to be part of.

Some time spent at home is called for, then we have some more adventures to go on. We have planned to explore Western Australia, especially the areas that we haven’t been to before and to do some free camping. We didn’t do any this time because we were always so concerned for Henry’s comfort.

We will be recording our travel journeys here on this blog so stay tuned for more adventures if you’d like. If not, thanks for coming along on our adventure and we’d encourage you to have your own travel adventures in Australia. There’s so much to see and better yet, there are so many amazing people out there yet to meet to enrich your life in so many ways.

Footnote: one of the people we met on our trip (Tim) we met on the side of the road at a rest stop. He and Ray really hit it off. We found it hard to pry them apart.

Tim confided in Ray some time later, the state of his health. We were saddened to hear that Tim had been told that during knee surgery the doctors discovered that he was riddled with inoperable cancer throughout his body. He has until the end of the year. He is out on the road living the travel dream he has always had. His wife flew to meet him that week. Together they were enjoying whatever time Tim has left.

None of us know how much time time we have- take the trip and enjoy every minute!

The Captain says, “Take that trip!”

  1. Yes! You are so right. Home gets further away the longer you are away. We are home now and it’s like we never left. Looking forward to our next adventure.
